You Vintage Disneyland Photo Bloggers...

...really need to pick up the pace. The Spring 1967 Backstage Disneyland discloses that "there are 198 million prints and slides" made by Guests and personnel--every year! What do you guys have--a few thousand? I don't think you're applying yourselves at all!

I have about 700 million slides, didn't I mention that? It's going to take me a while to get through them all. Patience, Grasshopper!

I wonder how many TICKETS were issued in 1967? Lets use 10 million visitors, say 3/4 bought tickets books with 10 tickets, that’s.... well, math isn't my strong point, but at least 75 million tickets. I'm feeling the pressure..... Major, how about 100 million a year, that way you have at least 7 years worth?

..."198 million prints and slides every year"...

Yes, and the quest is to track down every last one of them!

And, that's just Disneyland. This may take a while...

I would take anything written in the Backstage Magazines with a grain of salt. The magazine was based upon the old Mad and Cracked Magazines. Hilarious, but not your best source of information. But you probably knew that already!

Matterhorn: I agree with you to a large extent. This particular "fact" comes from one of the biographies (which aren't quite as whimsical). Specifically, this was from the biography of the Eastman Kodak shop manager; if anybody would have a good estimate of the number of photographs, I think it'd be him!

Rounding up to 200 million photographs, we'd get the following average per Guest:

5 million Guests: 40 photos
7 million Guests: 29 photos
10 million Guests: 20 photos
12 million Guests: 17 photos

Since the Guest counts include children, that's probably a bit high. Still, there are surely hundreds of millions of photographs of Disneyland in the 1950s, which is quite mind boggling to think about!

Heck, I think I took at least half a million photos myself in the last year, not counting the ones I have collected! Exhausting!

If you find any of me in the mid-1980s I'd appreciate a copy!

I keeping hitting up Youtube.com for some mid-80s vintage footage and there are some good postings there. Still, I agree with you, we are a few hundred million shy of photographs and slides from the vintage Park!
