Isn't That Bad Show?

From the November 1957 Disneylander:
A special thanks to ED CARNEGIE and TOBY MATTHEWS, of men's wardrobe, who took the time to call the baseball scores on the world series each day, to be broadcast on the Park P.A. system.

And they showed the Moon Landing in 1969. I think back then the World Series was much more important to everyone than it is now.

I remember during the last hockey game of the 1980 Winter Olympics, when US was playing the heavily-favored Russian team.
I was working the Harbor Toll Plaza to the Parking Lot. We had a transistor radio in the booth tuned to the game and posted the current score on the lift-front sign at the front end of the island that usually said "Parking $1.00". At least every other car thanked us for the updates!

Even supervision stopped by on their little Honda scooters to get the scores!
