Is This the Future or 1998?

(Hint: If you're not traveling around Southern California in a Rocket Rod, it's probably 1998.)

Considering that the Rocket Rods top speed was about 35 mph, I'll stick to my Honda! Maybe they'll bank the turns on the way to the mountains, and we can go up to 40.

Where are the exclamation points?

Was this in the ungrounded part of the RR cue?, I don't remember ever seeing it but I was only down there once and the line was actually moving by then so we went thru there kinda quick.

They are kidding right? Hollywood? The Mountains? California Adventure (what's that?)?

Is that still down there?

What happened to that tunnel? Was it sealed up when the Buzz Lightyear attraction was under construction?

I would think some kind of tunnel would have to survive down there as the elvator is still operable and I'd asume the stairway would still be there-how would anyone get to the top platform?

I remember thinking how crappy it was to take guests down in that tunnel with all the unfinished sections and ceiling with exposed pipes ets. And the horrible and uncomforatble way guests exited the "circle-vision" section and made there way to the tunnel approach--it was like it was a Disney RIDE set up at some hotel convention center.........and I couldn't get it out of my head how this attraction didn't take advantage of ANYTHING WED/WDI had ever learned about guest flow and people-moving. All those 1967 show buildings were designed so brilliantly from the flowing extrances to even the exits. The Tomorrowland 1998 was like the "Dark Ages" version of Tomorrowland.......

I don't know what's happened to the tunnel. I wonder if part of that former Rocket Rods queue is used as a stock room for the ODV cart under the platform...

The tunnel is now used as a queue for pin releases in Store Command. I took the following pictures in November, 2009:

The sign is long gone.

Thanks for the information, dfan07. I didn't spend a lot of time in the tunnel (I can't recall ever waiting in line normally for it), but it's nice to see it again after all these years.
